A Look Back at 2023 and What’s to Come in 2024
Recently, we bid farewell to 2023 and welcomed 2024. The beginning of the year is a time to summarize what has happened in the fireplace industry, but also to look at how it will develop in the new year, which direction designers will go, and what will be important for fireplace users - because they are the ones for whom they are. Of course, we have seen many premieres from various fireplace manufacturers around the world, and this year promises to be no different. For many years, no one needs to be convinced that fireplaces are not only functional, but also a symbol of style, luxury, and comfort. At Fireplace Trends, we have been dealing with fireplaces for over 20 years and this topic is not foreign to us and we already have our own observations on this topic.
Linear Design
Long, straight lines in interior design create an illusion of space and tranquility. Fireplaces with extended lines were a popular choice. These include, among others, the Opti-Myst Pro series, both 1000 Pro and 1500 Pro from Dimplex. This is, of course, a line of electric fireplaces, which are gaining an increasingly large fan base due to much lower technical requirements while maintaining their functionality. Electric fireplace series reign in apartments, but that does not change the fact that many of our customers also choose gas fireplaces with a linear design. Thanks to advances in heat management systems, the walls around the fireplaces remained cool to the touch, allowing for the installation of sensitive electronic equipment, works of art, and even wallpaper.
Looking Forward: Fireplace Trends for 2024
Entering 2024, we are observing an exciting evolution of fireplace trends. We can already see that fireplaces embedded in furniture or kitchen islands are enjoying no small popularity. One of many examples is certainly IgniteXL Bold Linear. This finish, in the opinion of many designers, adds space while maintaining a soothing atmosphere. No less popular remains natural stone or materials replicating its appearance. Moving away from the traditional mantel, full-height fireplaces are trending in 2024. This trend involves installing fireplaces with finishes that reach the full height of the room.
Material Fusion
Material fusion, mixing classic brick and stone fireplaces with modern finishes such as concrete, metal, and even glass, is another trend that is emerging for 2024.
Completely Custom
With so many options, a “universal” fireplace may seem boring. Homeowners can now choose every element of their fireplace, from the mantel to the finish.
